CUSTOM RODS · STARTING AT $450

Your water. Your way.

Maybe you need a shorter rod for tight Hill Country water, more backbone for bass bugs, or a grip that still feels good late in the day. Tell us where you fish and what is not working now. We’ll help turn that into the right build.

Custom GUADALUPE ROD CO fly rod with hand-shaped cork grip

THE CONSULTATION

Start with the water you actually fish.

Tell us where you go, what you throw, and what you want the rod to do better. You do not need to know blank specs or rod-building jargon—that is our part.

01

Your fishing

Where do you fish most? Tell us about the fish, flies or lures, and casts you make on a normal day.

02

Your ideal action

Tell us what you like about your current rod and what you would change. That gives us a good place to start.

03

Your build

We’ll work through the blank, grip, guides, reel seat, and colors with you, then put the choices and cost in writing.

MAKE IT YOURS

Choose the details that matter to you.

A grip that fits your hand, your favorite thread colors, or a particular reel seat can make the rod feel more like yours. We’ll explain the options and what each adds to the price.

01

Blank & action

Start with the length, weight, and action that suit your fishing. We can use an imported blank or look at upgraded and domestic options.

02

Hardware & guides

We’ll match the guides and reel seat to your reel, line, and fishing conditions, including saltwater use when needed.

03

Custom cork grips

Choose a grip shape and size that feel comfortable in your hand, with cork and accent options to suit your taste.

04

Thread & decorative wraps

Keep the wraps simple or add a favorite color, trim band, or decorative pattern. We’ll agree on the design before wrapping.

05

Turned wood inserts

Choose a wood insert for your reel seat. We’ll talk through the available woods, grain, and finish.

06

Custom epoxy inserts

An epoxy insert gives you more choices in color and detail. Bring your idea, and we’ll discuss what we can make.

BLANK SOURCING

Have a blank in mind? Let’s talk.

Our signature builds use standard imported blanks. For your custom build, we can look at other suppliers, including domestic sources. We’ll explain the differences in action, materials, availability, and cost so you can choose what makes sense for you.

WE SELECT FOR · Target species · Water type · Casting range · Fly or lure size · Action and recovery · Material · Travel needs · Budget

The final blank, availability, specifications, and build estimate are confirmed with you before materials are ordered.

MEMORIAL BUILDS

Remember someone through a rod you’ll fish.

If you’d like a rod to remember someone you fished with, we can talk privately about the details you want to include.

We’ll work through the details with you.

We can discuss incorporating a small portion of cremated remains into an epoxy reel-seat insert or another agreed detail. We’ll first confirm that the materials and design are suitable.

Before anything is transferred, we’ll agree in writing on how it will be handled, where it will be placed, and how any unused portion will be returned.

HOW THE BUILD WORKS
